(Farmville, Va.) – The Lock Haven University softball team went 2-3 in action at the Longwood Spring Softball Classic, wrapping up action as a tournament semifinalist. Lock Haven recorded two wins over Virginia State College, 8-0 and 1-0, and dropped contests versus Longwood University , 7-3, West Virginia Wesleyan College , 3-0, and Shippensburg University , 5-0.
            On Sunday morning Lock Haven took on Virginia State College in quarterfinal action, winning 1-0 in extra innings.  Danielle Fraser hit in the game-winner, and Stephanie Kinch picked up her second win of the season from the pitcher’s circle.
           In the semifinal match-up against Shippensburg University , Lock Haven was unable to get any runners across home plate, falling 5-0.  Lady Eagle pitcher Molly Shuey fell to 0-2 on the season after throwing the first three innings.
           Lock Haven softball, now 2-3 overall, will travel to Orlando , Fla. , to compete in the Rebel Games from March 7-12.
