Fla.) – After playing three scoreless innings, the Lady
Eagles finally took charge against
St. Joseph
’s University by scoring 10 runs over the next three
frames for the 10-0 shutout. Sophomore pitcher Shona
Guevara collected her second straight victory,
allowing just one hit over six innings with nine
strikeouts. At
the plate, Lynn
Spiezio was 2-for-4 with two runs and two stolen
bases. Kelly
Deitrick (Danville/Danville) was 2-for-4 with three
runs and an RBI while Heather
Johnson (Williamsport/Williamsport) also was 2-for-4
with a pair of RBI.
Lock
Haven posted three runs and had an error-free performance
as it scored a 3-1 victory over
St.
Xavier
University
. Molly Shuey
(Tower City/Williams Valley) was the winning pitcher,
earning her first victory of the season for a 1-2 mark
after throwing all seven innings with four strikeouts.
Lynn Spiezio was 2-for-3 to lead the Haven bats, also scoring two
runs and registering a stolen base.
Kristin
Frantz (Boyertown/Boyertown) had one hit, a triple,
and an RBI.
Lock Haven softball, now 5-4 overall, is in action at the
Rebel Games through March 12.
