(Philadelphia, Pa.) – The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania softball team (22-13, 12-4 PSAC West) collected two non-conference wins this evening on the road against Holy Family University (17-18-1), winning the first game 2-1 in extra innings before freshman pitcher Stephanie Kinch (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) threw a no-hitter in game two leading up to a 7-0 victory.
Shona Guevara ( Chino Hills , Calif. /Rueben S. Ayala) fanned 11 batters in nine innings of work in game one, allowing just four hits in the 2-1 victory.  The Lady Eagles relied on the international tiebreaker to score their winning run in the top of the ninth, holding off the Tigers in the bottom of the set for the win.
The Haven shut down the Tigers in game two, Stephanie Kinch logging the no-hitter in a five-inning game called due to darkness.  Kinch, who improves to 4-4, struck out four along the way. The offense was just as potent, pounding out 10 hits for the 7-0 victory. Lynn Spiezio (Trooper/Methacton) paced the Haven bats going 3-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base.  Heather Johnson (Williamsport/Williamsport) went 2-for-3.  Courtney Hughes (Schwenksville/Souderton) and Kelly Deitrick (Danville/Danville) registered one hit each and both had two RBI.
