LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior Jeanette Middlestead (Downingtown, Pa./LaSalle University)
was named the first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West
Pitcher of the Week this season in her efforts so far, the conference
office announced today (March 15). This is the first weekly award for
both Middlestead and the Lock Haven University softball team (11-5).
Middlestead has
started the season with a 3-1 record, compiling a 0.52 ERA in 40 innings
pitched. She has allowed just three earned runs and stuck out 43. The
junior starter has recorded two shutouts with her highlight of the
season being a no-hitter against North Carolina Central. Her no-hitter
came in game two of a doubleheader against NCC, following a tough 4-3,
eight-inning loss in game one.
Middlestead and the
rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m.
as they host No. 12 Bloomsburg University.
