LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– Junior Courtney Hughes
(Schwenksville,Pa./Souderton) was named the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Division Player of the Week, and the
Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Co-Player of the Week for her
efforts during the week ending April 3. This is the first weekly award
for Hughes, sixth PSAC honor and first ECAC award for the Lock Haven
University softball team (19-5, 4-0 PSAC West) this season.
Hughes hit .714 (5-of-7) in two wins
over California (Pa.) this week, driving in three runs and scoring
three. Three of her five hits on the week were for extra bases. The
junior shortstop posted a pair of doubles in game one--including an
RBI--and smacked a solo home-run in game two, finishing off a
back-to-back with Stephanie Hallowell.
Hughes and the rest of the Lady
Eagles are back in action Wednesday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m. as they host
Edinboro University.
