LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior
Janet Paterson (Frederick,
Md./Walkersville), and juniors
Courtney Hughes (Schwenksville,Pa./Souderton)
and Jeanette
Middlestead (Coatesville, Pa./La Salle University) make a
few appearances and the Lock Haven University softball team (26-6, 11-1
PSAC West) ranks in the top-30 in each of the NCAA Division II
statistics the association announced today.
The team’s batting average garnered
the highest rank, as a .349 mark was good for third in the nation. LHU
was 10th in ERA (1.04), 11th in scoring (6.83 runs
per game) and 25th in fielding percentage (.967).
Middlestead ranks sixth with three saves and 10th
in ERA at 0.66. Paterson is 25th with 0.25 home runs per game
and 37th with a .730 slugging percentage. Hughes took 25th
in doubles per game at 0.40 and was two notches behind Paterson in
slugging at .725. Sophomore
Stephanie Hallowell
(Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) takes home the
team’s top individual ranking at fifth with 0.43 sacrifice bunts per
contest.
Paterson, Hughes, Middlestead,
Hallowell and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action Friday,
April 15 at 2:30 p.m. as they travel to Slippery Rock University.
