LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its post-season all-regional teams, and Lock Haven University was well represented on the Mid-Atlantic Regional first and second teams.  The Lady Eagles placed three starters on each squad.

Junior pitcher Shona M. Guevara (Chino Hills, Calif./Humboldt State University) led the Haven charge on the first team.  Guevara posted a 1.27 ERA with an impressive 18-4 record.  She struck out 127 batters this season.

Fellow junior Courtney Hughes (Schwenksville, Pa./Souderton) nabbed the first-team shortstop honors with a team-best .388 batting average.  Hughes also led the team with 50 hits, 15 doubles, 34 runs scored and tied for the top spot with 35 RBIs.  She belted eight homeruns this season, upping her career total to a LHU career-best 14.

Stephanie Hallowell (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) grabbed the final Lady Eagle first-team spot at third base.  The sophomore batted .358 while starting every game for Lock Haven this season.  Hallowell was second on the team with 43 hits and 31 runs scored.

The rest of the Lady Eagle infield was represented on the Mid-Atlantic Region second team.  Junior second baseman Heather Johnson (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) earned her spot batting at a .358 clip.  HoJo hit nine doubles, three homeruns and drove in 26 runs this season.

Danielle Fraser (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) scooped up the first baseman nod for the second team.  Fraser batted .354 on the year, with 40 hits and 18 RBIs.

Behind the plate, senior catcher Janet Paterson (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) got the accolades.  Paterson belted a team-high nine homeruns while batting .343 this season.  She had 12 doubles and knocked in a team-best 35 runs.

Guevara, Hughes, Hallowell, Johnson, Fraser, Paterson and the rest of the Lady Eagles are in action today in the NCAA Regionals at Shippensburg University.
