LOCK
HAVEN, Pa. Former Lock
Haven University softball center fielder Lynn Spiezio was named
graduate assistant coach for Lock Haven University softball today (Sept.
7).
This marks the
first time in LHU softball history that the team has had a GA coach.
Spiezio currently
holds three LHU career records, including the most at bats (554), stolen
bases (82), and hits (202).
As one of the top
softball players in school history we are excited to have Lynn back to
work with the team, said head coach Kelley Green. Her skill set
as a leadoff hitter and outfielder will be valuable additions from an
instructional point of view.
Spiezio finished
her career with a .365 batting average. In 2005 she was named to the
NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional All Tournament team and was an all-conference
selection four times.
Her duties will
include working with the outfielders, teaching slap-hitting, administer
study hall, and increasing participation in camps and clinics.
I came back to the
team because there is no better coaching staff in the conference then
coach (Kelley) Green and (Kelly) Shannon, said Spiezio. I wanted the
best experience to help me grow as a coach and I knew I would get it
here, she added.
