CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Back-to-back
home runs by Stephanie Hallowell (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton)
and Courtney Hughes (Schwenksville,Pa./Souderton)
led the Lock Haven University softball team (17-5, 2-0
PSAC West) to a sweep of defending Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) West division champion
California University (Pa.) (11-9, 4-2 PSAC West) today
(April 1) 7-6, 10-4.
LHU hit
five total home runs in the twinbill, as
Janet Paterson (Frederick,
Md./Walkersville) hit two and
Heather Johnson (Williamsport ,
Pa./Williamsport) slammed
another. The Bald Eagles pounded out 22 hits in the two
games.
Juniors
Shona M. Guevara (Chino Hills,
Calif./Humboldt State University)
and Jeanette Middlestead
(Coatesville, Pa./La Salle University)
picked up the victories for LHU, with Middlestead earning
a save as well in game one.
Paterson finished the day at 4-for-7 with three runs
scored and five RBI on two home runs.
Hallowell, Hughes, Paterson, Johnson, Guevara, Middlestead
and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action
tomorrow, April 2, at 1 p.m. as they travel to Edinboro
University. |
