LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Junior Lock Haven University track and field standout
Keith Veldhuis
(Thamesford, Ontario/Ingersoll DCI) was selected to the
2005 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division
Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Team, the organization office announced
today (June 3).
Veldhuis holds the highest GPA of any
current LHU student-athlete at 3.977. He is a health and physical education
major.
In competition, Veldhuis was the indoor
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Champion in the heptathlon,
getting a win in the final event to top the competition by just 10 points.
He also set the school record in the heptathlon at 4496 during the 2004-05
indoor season. Veldhuis was also selected to the Winter Academic Top-10 list
by the PSAC.
Each one of
the All-District selections is now placed on the ballot for Academic
All-America.
