(California, Pa.) - Lock Haven volleyball improves to 18-2 overall and remains undefeated, 5-0, in conference play after a 3-0 win on the road at California ( Pa. ) University this evening.  The Lady Eagles won game one by the two-point minimum, 32-30, were strong in game two, 30-23, and ended with a come-from-behind, 31-29, victory for game three and the match.
           Pacing the Lady Eagles in the trio of close games was freshman middle Cherry Li ( Shanghai , China ), who recorded 13 kills, seven digs and two blocks.  Kristi Kauffman (York/Central York ) was key in the defensive effort with a game-high 22 digs along with eight kills to speed up the offensive attack.  Other key contributors included Lillian Bortoto ( Sao Paulo , Brazil / Campos Salles) with 10 kills and three blocks, including one solo stop, and Amanda Snyder ( Portsmouth , Va. /Churchland) who registered seven kills and seven digs.  Allison Furry (Guys Mills/Maplewood) handled the setting duties, tallying 39 assists along with six digs to help generate the offense.

Up Next:  The Lady Eagle volleyball team will next travel to Edinboro , Pa. , for a set of PSAC Cross-Over matches on Friday through Saturday, October 10-11.  Lock Haven will compete against the Eastern Division’s East Stroudsburg University , Millersville University and Cheyney University .
