The Lady Eagle
volleyball team suffered its second conference loss of the
season, falling to 7-2 in the PSAC West after tonight’s
3-2 loss at Indiana (Pa.) University.
Lock Haven is now 25-5 overall on the season.
The Lady Eagles fought but could not come up with
the win in game one, Indiana forcing extra points then
taking over in a game that lasted until 34-32.
The Haven captured the second game by a more
manageable score of 30-20, but went down a game after a
30-24 loss in game three. Lock
Haven again tied up the match, this time at 2-2, with a
decisive 30-18 victory in the fourth game.
Into the fifth and final game, Indiana
had taken a
two-point lead by the change-over point and held on for
the 15-13 win.
Cherry
Li (Shanghai,
China)
hit a career-high of 35 kills and added 20 digs and five
blocks to the defensive efforts.
Allison Wade
(Duncansville/Hollidaysburg) posted 18 kills and 12
digs from her outside hitter spot, while another outside
hitter, Kristi Kauffman (York/Central York), posted 15 kills and 16 digs
along with three aces from behind the service line.
Opposite hitter Amanda
Snyder (Portsmouth,
Va./Churchland)
tallied 10 kills and 15 digs, also serving up three aces.
Allison
Furry (Guys Mills/Maplewood) recorded a career-best
total of 68 assists over the five-game span.
