Announces 2005 Recruiting Class

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University volleyball program and head
coach Tom Justice announced the 2005 recruiting class today (July
13). The three-person list includes two freshman and one junior-college
transfer. One student-athlete stayed inside the Keystone borders, one comes
from Delaware, while the other is from Japan.
“With our program being senior
dominated, I brought in a smaller class this year,” said Justice. “This
class will fill our needs as a team and provide necessary depth at every
position on the floor.”
Mayumi
Ishihara – Junior – S/L – Hamamatshu City, Japan/Coffeeville CC
Played
two seasons at Coffeeville Community College in Kansas as a setter … “Mayumi
has great ball control skills,” said Justice. “She transfers with a 3.6 GPA
and a great knowledge of the game of volleyball.”
Stacey Borgia – Freshman – MH –
Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail
Named first team all-regional in 2003 …
Was team captain her senior season … “Stacey is one of a few high school
middles who is also an excellent defender and passer,” said Justice.
Kirstin Sowers – Freshman – OH –
Wilmington, Del./John Dickinson
Honored as first team all-conference in
2004 … Three-year varsity letterwinner … “Kirstin wants to be a coach after
college," said Justice, “so she has a good head for the game.”
