The Lady Eagle volleyball team notched its first
win of the new season with a 3-0 sweep over West Liberty
State College in its opening match of the Ashland
Invitational, winning games by sizeable margins of 30-11,
30-18 and 30-12.
Returning All-PSAC middle Cherry Li (Shanghai,
China) started the year where she left off last
season, leading LHU with nine kills, four digs and three
solo stuffs at the net. Fellow middle Lillian Bortoto
(Sao Paulo, Brazil/Campos Salles) added eight kills.
Kelly Kostelich (Venetia/Peters Township) ran the
offense in two of the three games, totaling 21 assists
along with a game high of three service aces.
