The Lady Eagle
volleyball team handed the University of Findlay its first
loss of the season, outlasting the home squad in five
games, 20-30, 30-23, 25-30, 30-25, 18-16, for a win in the
opening round of the Findlay Classic. The Haven is now 4-1
overall.
Cherry Li (Shanghai, China) paced the Lock
Haven attack, churning out 15 kills along with 21 digs and
eight blocks. Outside hitters Michelle Deehan (Upper
Marlboro, Md./Gwynn Park) and Allison Wade
(Duncansville/Hollidaysburg Area) complimented Li with
solid numbers at the net and on defense, Deehan
registering 12 kills and 13 digs while Wade posted 11
kills and 13 digs. Setter Allison Furry (Guys
Mills/Maplewood) helped direct action on the floor
with 26 assists in addition to 13 digs.
