swept the match against a solid Hillsdale squad, winning
close games early, 30-27 and 30-28, then earning the third
and deciding game by a 30-20 margin. Outside hitter
Inga Kurgonaite (Kaunas,
Lithuania/Yuozas Urbsys)
totaled a team best of 11 kills along with five blocks in
the win. Cherry Li (Shanghai,
China) followed
closely behind with nine kills, nine digs, six blocks and
two aces from behind the service line. Outside hitters
Jen Thompson (N.
Ridgeville, Ohio/Elyria Catholic)
and Allison Wade (Duncansville/Hollidaysburg Area)
each added seven kills to the victory. Kristi Kauffman
(York/Central
York)
paced the Haven defensively with 13 digs.

The Haven wrapped up
the Findlay Classic with another win, defeating Northwood
in five games, 30-25, 30-27, 27-30, 29-31, 15-11.
Cherry Li finished with a team best 19 kills along
with 21 digs and six blocks. Allison Wade added 11 kills
and 14 digs, while libero Kristi Kauffman paced the squad
with 25 digs. Allison Furry (Guys Mills/Maplewood)
totaled 31 assists in the win.
The victory put the Lady Eagles at 3-0 on the tournament,
earning them team championship honors. Cherry Li was named
the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while Jen Thompson
was named to the All-Tournament squad. |
