LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – More often than not, the road to the PSAC championship in volleyball goes through Lock Haven University or Edinboro University. The Lock Haven volleyball team (9-1, 3-0 PSAC) took their first steps to that challenge tonight as they defeated Edinboro (5-9, 2-1 PSAC) 3-0. The Lady Eagles had minor letdowns, but never gave up a single set, finishing off the Fighting Scots 30-27, 30-27, 30-21.

With the tandem of Li Yizhi (Shanghai, China) and Michelle Deehan (Upper Marlboro, Md./Gwynn Park) on the attack and Li, Inga Kurgonaite (Kaunas, Lithuania/Yuozas Urbsys) and Lillian Bartoto (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Campos Salles) providing the defense, Lock Haven now stands as the only undefeated team in PSAC West play.

Li and Deehan both recorded double-doubles at 10 kills-14 digs and 10 kills-10 digs, respectively.

Li, Deehan, Kurgonaite, Bartoto and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action Friday, Sept. 24 at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crossover.
