INDIANA, Pa. – The No. 24 Lock Haven University volleyball team (12-1, 3-0 PSAC West) continued their roll of late, mopping up both East Stroudsburg University and Millersville University in straight sets today at the PSAC East Crossovers at Indiana University. The two wins were the 10th and 11th in a row for the Lady Eagles.

LHU beat ESU 30-9, 30-27, 30-14. Sophomore Maggie Borden (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) led the Haven with a team high 13 kills. Lillian Bortoto (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Campos Salles) chipped in with six kills.

The Lady Eagles tallied 50 total digs in the match with Li Yizhi (Shanghai, China) and Kelly Wengerter (Emerson, N.J./Emerson) both racking up ten apiece. Kelly Kostelich (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) had a team high 27 assists while Allison Furry (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) added eight.

The Lady Eagles dropped Millersville 30-18, 30-23, 30-25. Senior Kristi Kauffman (York/Central York) moved from her setter spot to outside hitter, recording team-highs with 11 kills and 10 digs. She was followed closely by Inga Kurgonaite (Kaunas, Lithuania/Yuozas Urbsys) with 10 kills and Li with nine.

Furry ran the offense with a team-high 28 assists.

Borden, Bortoto, Li, Wengerter, Kostelich, Furry, Kauffman, Kurgonaite and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. against Indiana University in the Thomas Fieldhouse.
