LOCK HAVEN, Pa.—In a back-and-forth affair, the No. 25 Lock Haven University volleyball team (12-2, 3-1 PSAC West) took the first and third set, eventually running out of steam and dropping the final two to Indiana University (15-5, 2-2 PSAC West), 30-25, 25-30, 30-28, 20-30, 7-15. Freshman Inga Kurgonaite (Kaunas, Lithuania/Yuozas Urbsys) had 17 kills.

Finding themselves behind early in both of the last two sets, LHU made gallant efforts to climb back in, but was unable to overcome Indiana’s offensive attack. The defense clicked at times, Li Yizhi (Shanghai, China) and Jen Thompson (N. Ridgeville, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) had nine and eight blocks, respectively.  

The Lady Eagles are back in action Friday, Oct. 1 as they host the LHU Invite, a four-team tournament lasting two days.
