LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 24 Lock Haven University volleyball team (15-2, 3-1 PSAC West) was dominant in the final day of their host LHU Volleyball Classic, defeating both Mercy College and Wheeling Jesuit University today in straight sets.

The Lady Eagles dropped Mercy 30-13, 30-19, 30-15. Lock Haven had a balanced attack in this game, with sophomore Li Yizhi (Shanghai, China) recording nine kills and Jen Thompson (N. Ridgeville, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) and Michelle Deehan (Upper Marlboro, Md./Gwynn Park) adding eight apiece.

LHU got an offensive spark from Kelly Kostelich (Venetia/Peters Township) who not only ran the offense with 25 assists, but inked a whopping nine service aces.

LHU beat WJU 30-19, 30-22, 30-18. Li led the Haven with a team high 15 kills. Li added 13 digs for a double-double. Deehan chipped in with 16 digs, six kills and four service aces.

Defense was strong once again for the Lady Eagles, as they recorded 10 team blocks, Li leading the way with six.

Li, Thompson, Deehan, Kostelich and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. against Indiana University in the Thomas Fieldhouse.
