basketball team controlled Columbia Union College 83-68
tonight at Thomas Fieldhouse. The 83 points are the most
by the Lady Eagles since a 99-43 win over Albany College
of Pharmacy Dec. 27, 2003.
Shadduck led four LHU
scorers in double figures, followed by freshman

at a career-high 16, sophomore

Sillers (Lebanon,
Pa./Lebanon)
with 16 and sophomore
Ginger
Williams (Pasadena,
Md./Chesapeake)
at 10. Shadduck narrowly missed the second double-double
of her career by pulling down nine rebounds tonight.
Sophomore guard
Elizabeth
Gabrielle (State
College, Pa./State College)
captained the offense with a team season-high 12 assists,
as each one of the eight Lady Eagles reached the scoring
column for the first time this season.
The game began with a
quick 9-0 run for LHU, capped by Williams’s layup with
17:08 left in the first half. The Lady Pioneers took over
the advantage for the only time at the 12:49 mark, but LHU
would answer with a 14-0 run over the next four minutes.
The Lady Eagles would hold the lead for the remainder of
the contest.
The Lady Eagles lost the
turnover battle 31-22, but combated that with a 42-24 edge
in the rebounding department. Led by Shadduck and Blazina,
the Haven bench outscored the CUC reserves 42-8.
Shadduck, Blazina, Sillers,
Williams, Gabrielle and the rest of the Lady Eagles are
back in action Saturday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. as they host No.
11 California University (Pa.) at Faculty and Staff
Appreciation Day and PSECU Night. |
