Women's Hoops Controlled by Millersville, 63-46

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.—The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (0-5) failed to crack the win column for the fifth game this season, dropping a 63-46 decision to Millersville University (3-1) tonight at the Thomas Field House. Haven sophomore Shameka L. Lee (Washington/HD Woodson) led all scorers with 13 points and nabbed six rebounds.

The Lady Eagles led just once in the contest, at 4-2 on a lay-up by guard Elizabeth Gabrielle (State College, Pa./State College) two minutes into the game. The Marauders sped away in the second half 32-22, despite being out-shot 38 percent (13-of-34) to 44 percent (7-of-16).

Joining Lee in double-figures was the team’s lone senior Melissa Picarsic (Acme, Pa./Mt. Pleasant) with 11 points and a team-best seven rebounds.

Lee, Gabrielle, Picarsic and the rest of the Lady Eagles will be back in action Thursday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. as they host Alderson-Broaddus College.
