LHU Women Fall at West Chester, 73-62

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Despite a season-high three players in double digit scoring, the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (0-7) dropped their seventh-straight tonight to West Chester University, 73-62. Sophomore guard Allison Hall (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) paced the team with highs of 11 points and nine rebounds.

The Lady Eagles led just once in the contest, posting the game’s first two points on a shot by junior Kristy Shadduck (Dimmock, Pa./Elk Lake). Trailing by as much as 27 in the second half, LHU showed some spark at the five-minute mark, sprinting for a 14-2 run to finish the contest, but could get no closer than 11.

Five different Lady Eagles chipped in during that run, including five points from sophomore guard Elizabeth Gabrielle (State College, Pa./State College) who finished with eight points and a team-best five assists.

Sophomores Candace Sillers (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) and Ginger Williams (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) joined Hall in double figures with 10 points apiece.

Hall, Shadduck, Gabrielle, Sillers, Williams and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. at Kutztown University.
