SMITHFIELD, R.I.—The
Lock Haven University women’s basketball team (0-10) had
three players in double-figure scoring, but it wasn’t
enough to crack the win column as Bryant
College (8-2)
downed the Lady Eagles 74-59 tonight in day two of the
Comfort Inn and Suites Holiday Tournament.
Senior
Melissa
Picarsic (Acme,
Pa./Mt. Pleasant)
paced the team with 14
points and six rebounds. Joining her in double-digit
scoring was
Allison Hall (Hollidaysburg,
Pa./Hollidaysburg)
with 13 points and six
rebounds and
Shameka L. Lee (Washington/HD Woodson) with 10
points in just 18 minutes.
Lee’s layup with 4:46 left
in the first half cut the Bulldog lead to 25-23. Bryant
would kick their offense into high gear, going on a 19-2
run, ending with 17:30 left in the game. Despite this run,
the Lady Eagles nearly took the second-half battle 37-34.
Picarsic, Hall, Lee and the rest of the Lady Eagles are
back in action Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. as they play
host to South Connecticut State University.
