PHILADELPHIA
– Lock
Haven University wrestling’s head coach
Rocky Bonomo will pick up his latest in a
list of honors Aug. 27, when he will be inducted into the Luzerne County
Athletics Hall of Fame, a group honoring excellence in athletics throughout
the area.
“I’m excited about the honor, this hall
of fame induction really speaks well to the support that I get from my
assistant coaches,” said Bonomo. “I owe any success I get to my family,
support staff and the great student-athletes I’ve had during by tenure.”
Bonomo is a member of the Bloomsburg
University Hall of Fame and just last season, guided the Bald Eagles to a
second-place Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) finish with six national
qualifiers and an EWL Coach of the Year Trophy.
Notable past inductees include: former
NFL superstar Bill Romanowski, boxer Rocky Castallani and gold medalist Dr.
Walter Tewksbury.
