LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– Senior defender Danielle
Smith (Johnson, N.Y./Misinik Valley) of the Lock Haven
University women’s soccer team earned the first-ever National Soccer
Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Academic All-American
award in LHU women’s soccer history, the NSCAA office announced today.
Smith earned a spot
on the third team. She was a senior leader on a defensive line that
allowed just a 0.96 goals-against average, producing nine shutouts. She
also had two goals and three assists on the year.
A secondary
education/biology major, Smith has earned a 3.418 grade-point average.
The Lady Eagles
wrapped up their season at 11-7-2, their ninth 10-win season in a row,
and made an appearance in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
tournament.
