LONG ISLAND, N.Y. –
The Lock Haven
University women’s soccer team (7-6-2, 4-1-1 PSAC West)
notched a goal in each half to top Long Island University-CW
Post (7-4-1, 3-2 NYCAC) 2-0. Lock Haven finishes the
season an even 2-2 against New York Collegiate Athletic
Conference teams.
The Haven took a 1-0
halftime lead on Diane Wall’s (Green Lane/Pennridge)
second goal of the season. Sophomore Caitlin Martz
(Plum/Plum) assisted on the strike, which came at the
30:21 mark in the first half.
Defending Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference Player of the Week Holly
Homsher (Millersville/Penn Manor) hit the clincher
with just over six minutes to go, her third, off a pass
from Danielle Smith (Johnson, N.Y./Minisink
Valley).
Freshman Emily Wagner
(Brick, N.J./Brick Township) made three saves to record
the first shutout of her career.
Wall, Martz, Homsher,
Smith, Wagner and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in
action at Clarion University on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. |
