LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock
Haven University
women’s soccer team (10-6-2, 7-1-1 PSAC West) clinched
their ninth-straight 10-win season with today’s 1-0
victory over California University (5-12-1, 2-5-1 PSAC
West) at McCollum Field. Sophomore Holly Homsher
(Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) continued her torrid
stretch as of late, scoring a goal in her
fifth-consecutive game.
Homsher struck just over
seven minutes into the game, as a corner kick loose ball
bounced her way and she tapped it in for her sixth goal of
the season.
The win keeps the Haven in
a tie with Slippery Rock University for first place in the
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division at
7-1-1.
Freshman Emily Wagner
(Brick, N.J./Brick Township) made two saves, pushing her
record to 3-0, while Dana Galiffa made 10 saves in the
loss.
Homsher, Wagner and the
rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday,
Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. as they host Edinboro University. |
