LOCK
HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven
University women’s soccer team (0-1) was shut-out today
(Aug. 27) by West Chester University (1-0), 3-0. The
Lady Eagles were held in check by a stingy defense that
allowed just one shot on goal.
LHU
goalkeeper Emily Wagner () made 10 saves in 13
attempts to fall to 0-1 on the season and WCU keeper
Hilary Smart made one stop to record her first win of
the season. West Chester took 20 shots with 13 on goal,
while Lock Haven only took two shots, getting one on
goal.
“West
Chester is a very talented team,” said Lock Haven coach
Heather Kendra. “Despite the score, I feel we’re
not that far off. With such a short preseason, it was
tough to start off with one of the best teams in the
PSAC, but I’m still optimistic about where we’ll be at
the end of this season.”
Wagner
and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back in action at
the University of Bridgeport on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1
