SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Lock
Haven University women’s soccer team (0-4, 0-2 PSAC
West) fell today (Sept. 7) to Slippery Rock University
(2-1, 1-0 PSAC West), 2-1. Lock Haven’s lone goal came
from sophomore dual-sport star
Missy Blazina (Lock
Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) in the 52nd minute.
The
game went into the half 0-0 and was broken out of the
tie by Blazina. Slippery Rock tallied the tying goal in
the 58th minute off the foot of Meghan McGrath. She
would end the tie in the 69th minute off a pass from
Jaimi Wilson.
Blazina
led the Haven with three shots, two of which were on
goal. She was helped out by freshman forward
Stephanie Fisher (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) who
fired off two shots in LHU’s second conference loss.
Once
again the net was held down by sophomore
Emily Wagner
(Brick, N.J./Brick Township) who faced 18 shots,
eight of which were fired on goal. She was able to make
six saves out-matching the Rock’s two.
Blazina,
Fisher, Wagner and the rest of the Lady Eagles are back
in action when they play host to Edinboro University on
Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. |
