HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven
University women’s soccer team (0-5, 0-3 PSAC West) fell
today (Sept. 10) to Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference West (PSAC) foe Edinboro University (4-2-1,
3-0 PSAC West), 1-0. LHU once again out shot there
opponent 19 to 11 but could not get the ball in the net.
The
game went into the half in a scoreless tie and was not
broken until the 82nd minute by Edinboro’s
Ashley Pulman who snuck past the Lady Eagle’s defense
and popped a shot over
Emily Wagner’s
(Brick, N.J./Brick Township) outstretched hands.
LHU’s
best opportunity came late in the first half when
Holly Homsher’s
(Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) corner was headed
towards the goal by
Colleen Kafka
(Candor, N.Y./Candor) and made it past the Fighting
Scots goalkeeper but was sent away by the head of a
defender on the goal line.
Wagner
played another great game for the Lady Eagles making
five saves on 11 shots six of which were on goal.
Freshman
Stephanie Fisher (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor)
led the Lady Eagle attack with two shots on goal and
three shots overall.
Wagner,
Homsher, Kafka, Fisher and the rest of the Lady Eagles
are back in action when they play host to Clarion
University on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. |
