Lock Haven University has been taking steps to integrate technology into our students experience on campus.
Our solution to this ever present problem? The Student Technology Enhancement Program, otherwise known as STEP!
This initative requires that all freshman attending Lock Haven University come prepared with a laptop computer. The laptop requirement is designed to aid in note taking, interactive classroom activities, and out of class learning experiences (including: homework, research, and collaborative projects).
Why is it important for students to have laptops? As technology becomes more integrated into our society, our need to understand, and be able to utilize online utilities becomes more of a need not just a luxury. The laptops will strengthen the learner's ability to compete in an ever changing society. Laptops are a wonderful tool whether they're utilized by professors in classroom, or used by the students in their dorms for research, writing papers, or doing online homework assignments. We're breaking through into the 21st century, and we'd like you to join us!
