Haven Activities Council

The Haven Activities Council (HAC) is LHU's volunteer student programming council that provides students with cultural & educational experiences and entertainment. The HAC Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator along with 8 student committees plan and implement a variety of campus events throughout the year.
HAC Committees & Descriptions Include:
Concerts Committee:
This committee plans the major concerts and music events of all types including
alternative, acoustic, rock, pop, dance music and much more. Committee members
participate in all aspects of show production from contract negotiations to
security, hospitality and stage crew.
Lectures Committee:
This committee invites various individuals to speak on issues and interests that
not only inform but also entertain the University Community. Committee members
are involved in selection of performers and every part of show production from
contract negotiation and hospitality to program implementation and evaluation.
Multicultural Committee:
This committee is responsible for the planning of events of a multi-cultural
nature, including events for Native American Heritage month, Hispanic Heritage
Month, Black History Month and Women's History Month
Performing Arts Committee:
This committee plans programs in the area of performing arts and entertainment.
Included in this category are hypnotists, comedians, roving artists drama and
dance. Committee members participate in all aspects of event production from
contract negotiation to hospitality and stage crew.
Special Events Committee:
This committee plans activities for major special event weekends including Fall
Fest, Homecoming, Family Day, Spring Week and Campus Craze. Committee members
are involved in all aspects of the event planning.
Visual Arts Committee:
Plans the movie series on the campus cable station and the big screen movies.
Through surveys and student contact, this committee selects movie titles to meet
the needs of a diverse community.
Weekend Programming Committee:
This committee is responsible for providing trips and/or adventure programming
during the academic year. Activities can include trips to sporting events,
shopping and city tours.
