SUMMER 2008 - Registration Instructions

 FIRST FIVE WEEK SESSION:  May 19 to June 20
Three-week courses may be included and noted on the schedule

SECOND FIVE WEEK SESSION:  June 23 to July 25
Three-week courses may be included and noted on the schedule

SUMMER EXTENDED (10-week) SESSION:  May 19 to July 25
(May include field experiences, web-based courses, physician assistant courses, etc)

If you are a currently enrolled student planning to attend the summer session(s), you should register as soon as possible but preferably by May 1, 2008 at noon.  First, however, meet with your faculty advisor and consult on an appropriate schedule of classes.  Students with unpaid bills must clear their account with Student Financial Services before being able to register.  Following is a list of most frequently asked questions.

Summer registration does not require advisor registration clearance.

All students may begin registration on February 1 at 8:00 AM.

WHEN IS SUMMER 2008 REGISTRATION?  Currently enrolled students may register by web registration, beginning February 1. 

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR AN INDEPENDENT STUDY, INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION, OR INTERNSHIP?  Students planning to register for independent study, individualized instruction or an off campus internship MUST complete the appropriate application (available on the web at http://www.lhup.edu/academic/acad_affairs/enroll_forms.htm unless the off campus field experience/field participation is listed on the summer schedule.) 

HOW DO I ACCESS WEB REGISTRATION?  Simply access the web student information system by using your student ID number and PIN.  Set your options to the correct summer session and year; choose 'Registration.'

WHAT IF I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH WEB REGISTRATION?  You can phone 484-2006 Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM. 

WHEN DO I ACCESS WEB REGISTRATION? 
Again for summer sessions 2008, any time beginning February 1. 

HOW DO I ADD/DROP COURSES?  Use web registration; you need the catalog and section number associated with each section found in the online schedule of classes (at the Summer Information web page - http://www.lhup.edu/summer/index.htm). 

Adds are permitted through May 21 for summer session 1, May 23 for summer extended, and June 25 for summer session 2.

Drops are permitted through May 23 for the summer session 1, May 30 for summer extended, and June 27 for summer session 2.

WHAT IF A COURSE HAS A "PREREQUISITE"?  Students who have not fulfilled the prerequisite (e.g. Sociology needed to take Marriage and the Family) are not permitted to register for the course; however, department chairs may make exceptions. 

WHAT IF THERE IS A FINANCIAL HOLD ON MY REGISTRATION?  With a "hold" on one's record it is impossible to register for courses; contact the Student Financial Services Office, first floor of Russell Hall or phone them at 570-484-2344, and ask for details.  Office hours are 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
