Directions for Scanning with the EPSON 1670


1. Open the applications folder and scroll down until you find Epson Scan.

Double Click on the EPSON Scan alias or EPSON Scan to launch the software.


2. If prompted click on the model number of the scanner EPSON 1670.

3. If the file settings window opens you can type in the name of the image. If you do not give it a name the program will by default

call it img00x,jpg.  You can also select file type such as PDF or JPEG.   The images should be saved to the desktop so you can find them.


 

Change file name here:

Then Click OK:



4. The next window appears and the mode should be HOME MODE:


Change it to Home Mode if it has been changed to some other Mode.


 

 

 

5. Select the appropriate
document type. Magazine is usually a good start.


6. Image Type is selected
by clicking on the appropriate
button.

7. Destination is usually screen, but select the appropriate button.

8. Large documents can be
scaled by selecting the new Target size.

9. Click on Preview to check
orientation and location. You can
select any part of the image
and scan just that part. When
you click on the image the +
will appear. Click and drag to
select the area you want to scan.
A dashed line box will appear.

10. You can click on Scan if
you are ready, but if you still
need to name the file you can
click on the small diamond to the
right to name the file. Look at
the diagram on the previous page
for help with naming.
