Liability Insurance
Liability Insurance is a Professional Semester and Student Teaching requirement. Students must show evidence of having current liability insurance, equal to one million dollars, that will be in effect for the duration of the semester in which he or she plans to teach in schools.
Most students join Student PSEA(Pennsylvania State Education Association)
PSEA Membership Duration runs from September 1 – August 31
If studnets are taking block in the fall and student teaching in the spring they will only need to purchase 1 year of liability insurance. If they are taking block in the spring and student teaching in the fall students will have to purchase 2 years of liability insurance. Since their insurance year runs from September 1 to August 31.
