Athletes Supporting Athletes!
Soles for Souls
National Women in Sport Day
The Women's
Soccer team collected gently used supportive shoes for the
"Nicaragua Mission Project". The shoes will be donated
to needy people attending a free medical clinic set up in a
small Nicaraguan village later this spring. The team
collected 77
pairs of shoes.
It was a
terrific afternoon event with LHU student-athletes
interacting with local 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from the
local community. The women's soccer teams enjoys
participating in this event each year.
Soccer in the Community
The Women's
Soccer Program has developed a community scheme to continue
its relationship with the Lock Haven community.
Through curriculum coaching, the LHU coaching staff and
players will work with the children in the community.
This program will be coordinated along with the school based
physical education program. Currently the team is
coordinating programs with the YMCA, Liberty-Curtin
Elementary School, Dickey Elementary and the Lock Haven
Catholic School.
Please
contact Assistant Coach Adam Reekie for additional
