The purpose of the pamphlet is to educate those interested in understanding groundwater. Explanations of the Hydrologic Cycle start the article followed by an explanation of what groundwater and aquifers are. Groundwater movement and recharging is covered. The effects of various human activities on groundwater such as agriculture are detailed. Explanations of contamination detection and cleanup are mentioned briefly with prevention from contamination being highlighted. A list of various laws both state and federal concerning groundwater is included. The pamphlet has many graphics that complement the explanations contained in the individual sections.
