Welcome to the Women's Studies Homepage!

The Women's Studies Program is an interdisciplinary program that includes faculty from a variety of departments on Lock Haven's campus.

The main focus of the Women's Studies Program is to offer a minor in Women's Studies. As the program is interdisciplinary in nature, a student with a minor in Women's Studies would take a variety of courses from multiple departments. The courses offered vary from semester to semester. For more information on the Women's Studies Minor, please click here or use the "Information on Minor" button to the left. To view the courses being offered each semester, please click here or use the "Course Offerings" button on the left. To find out about the faculty who frequently offer Women's Studies courses, please click here or use  the "Faculty Biographies" button on the left.

A second focus of the program is to offer on-campus events that discuss gender issues in society. These may include evening lectures or "brown bag" discussions. For more information regarding the Women's Studies events, please click here or use the "Program Events" button to the left. We will have events planned for Women's History Month (March), so be sure to check the events regularly for updates!

Finally, the Women's Studies program focuses on improving the quality of life for all individuals, through an understanding of the social, economic, and political factors that influence women and men. To that end, we have a resources page, which provides information about various opportunities and resources available to Lock Haven students. One example of these opportunities is the day care discount open to parent-students who choose to enroll their children in select area day cares.
