Lock Haven University and Community Resources

The Lock Haven University and community have a variety of opportunities and resources available for students, faculty, and staff to use. Below are just a few of the resources available.

H,O.P.E. Center - Haven Outreach Program for Empowerment Center

  • The H.O.P.E. Center is Lock Haven University's center dedicated to raising awareness of gender violence, relationship violence, and sexual assault

  • The H.O.P.E. Center offers programs regarding those issues, a space for those interested in meeting to discuss those issues, and support groups for those who have dealt with those issues.

Parent-Student Day Care Discount

This opportunity is available to full-time students with children. The university will pay 30% of child care costs if the child is enrolled in one of the three day care centers that have an established contract with LHU. The child care centers are:

  • Building Blocks (located at 225 E Church St)

  • All Things Bright and Beautiful (located in Avis)

  • Lock Haven Day Care (located on Susquehanna Ave)

Women's Center - Downtown Lock Haven (34 W Main St)

  • The Women's Center works with both women and men who are victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault

  • Volunteers can choose from several areas to serve
